Sainsbury Family
Here are some pictures of the Sainsbury family. This is my mother’s side of the family. They live in Folkestone which is located a few miles from the white cliffs of Dover on the English Channel. I’m not sure who many of the people are in this family group photograph below, taken around 2015. It’s been over 50 years since I was there, but I do remember some of them from my visit, like Penny, Bob, Joyce and Kath. Standing over on the far-right, is my favorite cousin (and good friend) Robbe. We’ve been chatting on Skype for many years. And kneeling below him in the bright blue shirt is Joanie, my mom’s favorite niece, who we also see in the photos below. Standing center with the short blonde hair and the big smile is my cousin Carole, who I remember from our visit in 1969 and who is also featured below as a three-year-old.

The photos below are from our trip from Canada to England in 1969. We travelled to visit family in the north of England and in Folkestone. We also went on a two-week bus tour of Europe.
Here are the death certificates of my (maternal) grandparents, John and Lydia Sainsbury.
